Ok, I didn't see any mention of this, but supposedly top MLB executives have let an idea out about floating divisions, meaning alignment isn't permanent, and teams can move based on need at the time..

I heard this first on Mike and Mike, then again during an MLB segment on ESPN..

Basically, it'd work something like this:

The Cleveland Indians are semi-rebuilding and expect ticket sales to be low.. Well instead of being in the Central division with teams that aren't big draws (i.e. KC) they could swap with Tampa Bay and join the AL East while Tampa joins the AL Central..

Why?

Well, in Clevelands perspective, you'll have 18 home games vs Boston and NY, which would draw money at the gate, which then could help with revenue towards completeing the rebuild..

In Tamp Bays' perspective, their window for competing is closing, and playing in the same division as NYY and Boston severely lowers their chances of competing for a division title or wild card..

Tampa Bay would instantly become favorites in the Central division for the time being with the chance to win a division crown and they wouldn't have to worry about what the Yankees or Red Sox are doing.. (since the inception of the Wild Card, the Yankees and Red Sox have accounted for 37% of the total playoff appearances by teams in the AL)

Again, this would be allowed for all teams to submit why they should be realigned if the teams would come to agreement (for example, Cleveland and TB agreeing on a switch)

What are your thoughts on this? Like it, hate it?

Article on the matter:

basic summary from the article:

Quote:SI.com's Tom Verducci reports there is strong support among the 14-member panel of mainly executives and managers for the idea of "floating realignment." It is seen as a way to increase competitive balance. Verducci adds, however, that the concept is merely in the talking stages and lacks a structure. Moreover, the committee's recommendations are non-binding.
Under the concept, teams would be able to decide where they'd want to play in a given season based on geography, payroll and willingness to contend. SI.com, citing an unnamed source who is familiar with the discussions, notes that a team couldn't move into a division more than two time zones beyond its home city — say, the Rays or Orioles trying to join the NL West.

For the record, I hate it..

There are other ways to create "competitive balance" and this is not the way to do it.. It'd become more of a chore to follow everything than it would do good.

Also, traditional division rivals would be no more.

I guess this post is more of just validating my opinion.
A girl I've been talking to has an ex husband. Shes 25 and they were married for 2 years. No kids, no house, no money... it was a pretty easy divorce.. for her. He calls her constantly. Tonight he called 6 times in 10 minutes and left 2 voicemails. I answered for her the last time and he just hung up. She catches him outside of her apartment... she thinks shes seen him outside of her work... dudes a stalker, plain and simple. I told her she needs to get a restraining order and she says hes harmless so shes not worried about it. I'm worried shes going to find out differently one day. Plus I'm not sure of the law exactly, but I think something has to happen to get a restraining order.. but I'm not sure. I'm sure he knows where I live cuz he's prolly followed here her. He knows my car obviously cuz he knows when I'm there. He may be "harmless" but I'm not sure u can ever be really sure.

Here's my issue at hand that I e-mailed to Itunes support. They're telling me to uninstall and install Itunes again and just back up all of my songs. I really don't want to do that just yet and wanted to see if the FreeHuddle has had this problem before. I'm a little worried that my Ipod, which I've had for about 4-5 years, is wearing out. It's in pretty good condition though and hasn't had any prior problems.
------------
Letter to Itunes "Support",

> I am trying to sync my iPod to my iTunes.
>
> Almost every time, it says I need to authorize 115 purchases and asks for my username and password. I submit that.
>
> Then, I usually receive the message "Unknown Error -42408. Error in iTunes store." And tells me to try again.
>
> I can play all of my songs, purchased and not, just fine on my computer. It never asks me to authorize anything.. only when I try to sync my ipod.
>
> Only one other computer should be authorized to play my songs.

Man in the box thread got me thinking. I'am claustrophobic as hell and would never make it ever for a billion dollars. Well maybe for a billion. But crawl spaces, attics, elevators, even tight caves such as Mammoth or some at Old Mans give me the heebie jeebies.
Are you claustrophobic?

Its a pretty interesting show and most of the things on there seem to make sense. Although i just saw one where they studied using a weighted bat vs a non weighted bat when warming up in baseball. it showed you swing slower after using a weighted bat to warm up. its interesting because i always used a donut on a bat, and just about all the MLB players do too. so just because it feels like you have a faster swing, you really dont.

and the same thing applied to golfers who use two clubs to warm up. their study showed a big drop in yardage after using this method. although i have never tried it in golf, just feels like it would mess up my swing.
